synchronized version
Synchronized versions provide synchronized version numbers, i.e. version numbers are managed on database level and each new version gets the next higher database version number regardless on the versioning scope. Version numbers for different database entries reflect a temporal relationship, i.e. database entries with lower version number are older than database entries with higher version numbers. In contrast to consistent versioning, it is up to the application to deside when to create new versions for a versioning scope.
