Database

An ODABA database usually consists of one file that contains the database root object. Thus, a database can be referenced in simple cases just by referring to the file name. This is, however, possible only, when no schema information is required.

The schema for an ODABA database is stored separately in a dictionary or resource database.

The dictionary and the resource database together define a data source, which allows accessing structured data in the database.

In some exceptional cases the database may refer to other subordinated databases.
