Object identity

Persistent object entries (indexes as well as instances) get a unique number within the database, the local object identity (LOID). The identity may, however, change when copying the instance to another database (e.g. when copying the database). Therefore, a global unique identity can be requested for a structure, which remains unchanged and unique for life time.
