resource descriptor

Metadata resources are linked to resource descriptors. A resource descriptor defines the link between a schema element (dictionary or repository resource) and its conceptual definition or documentation describing the resource. Moreover, the resource reference provides a link to the functional features of the metadata resource via a resource identification number and a link to a context class reference, which allows linking the resource to a context class.
